The hardest habit you need to start should be done first thing in the morning.  

I have done 4 monthly challenges this year.

  2. Faster Mile February
  3. Clean Eating March
  4. Spanish April

One of the common themes with all of them has been that doing something first thing in the morning is the most important component of keeping on track.   Get it out of the way fast.  Set the tone early.   Jump out to an early lead.

Have something on your list that needs to get done.  Do it before you even put food in your mouth.
