I’m guilty of this. I’ve seen countless people do this as well, but I hate myself every time I’ve done it. It feels a bit foolish and you almost always spend too much time getting looks from others in the office and spending too much time discussing when you’re getting to the airport and what time do you need to leave.
If you’re visiting a customer, partner, or investor, the last thing you want to do is signal that you need to make a flight and that you should be thinking about cutting the meeting short.
Leave your bag at the bell desk of your hotel. Heck, if you’re far away from your original hotel, find another one. No one asks you whether you’re staying at a hotel if you just use the bag check.
Better off, try not to schedule meeting without any buffer time so you’re not left carrying a bag.
